WebIn my opinion the best way is to model everything without any holes as clean as possible. This normally makes a quite clean mesh. Then dublicate it, put the holes and bigger changes in the second mesh and use a shrink-wrap modifier. I would say it looks okay could space them out a bit more if it is possible.
