WebJul 26, 2001 · If I remember correctly, the Dynavector Karat/Ruby preceeded the 23R by a few years. The serial number is consistent with the earlier cartridge as your box states Karat/Ruby. There was also the diamond cantilever version called the Karat/Diamond and then the 17D. There are reviews in back issues of TAS on the original and newer units.
