Darkness falls rain catcher not working
WebMar 6, 2024 · The Darkness Falls mod apparently kills the infinite water situation. Rain barrels placed at intersections of a grid of planting locations works well in DF. Can't recall if the farms we set up were 2x2 or 4x4 squares of crops, with 1 empty block spaced lines between the grid squares for the water to "flow" around the grid. WebJan 2, 2024 · Throw the rain catcher in that middle bit, then stick wood bars over the top (so I don't fall in the hole, because i'm an idiot and totally fall in) and that usually does the job. Having said that, I do have working Irrigation now! What is this block beside the water hole, connected to the pipes? Probably a pump. WebNov 22, 2024 · I read that the rain catcher can overflow and that can destroy your plants. To avoid it, place it 2 blocks deep. So if i'm probably going to use farm plots, i guess leaving out one farm plot every 8 blocks and just fill that hole with water is still easier? Ah, ok.
WebApr 21, 2024 · I actually thought about this, but rain catchers used to not work in 7DTD as far as I was aware. WebDec 8, 2024 · Water depletion seems to be... random. A 9x9 field with only one rain catcher worked nice for yucca, but sucks with different kinds of seeds (potato, corn, wheat, tomatoes, pumpkin, ...). Also my water-block-only test grew a 4x4 of potatoes fine, but sucked with corn, only grewing 1-3 plants (one stage, not to final stage) with one water … WebFeb 1, 2024 · Hello all! WebBeen trying to grow some crops in Darkness Falls (A19.3). I’ve placed a rain catcher in a hole two blocks deep to prevent the water from spreading, and I’ve tried placing seeds both in a farm plot and in dirt that I used a hoe on within 4 blocks of the water block and they don’t grow. Am I missing something? 6 8 comments sorted by Best

I placed it incorrectly, but I can't destroy it or pick it up. I had to dig around it so that it destroyed itself. Is this intended? I can interact (pick up, destroy, etc) with everything around it, but no tool will let me hit it. Your method of a hole in the middle of a 5x5 should work but 4x4 plots with channels would probably be more efficient if you do a lot of farming.
